
Volleyball Defeated By NIU, 3-1

The Falcon volleyball team, fell to Northern Illinois on Sunday, October 17, in four sets, 24-30, 30-20, 31-33, 23-30. NIU improves its overall record to 13-15 while upping its mark to 6-10 in the league. The Huskies are tied with Western Michigan University for the eighth and final spot in the conference tournament. The Falcons fall to 9-20 with a 4-13 MAC record.
Senior Kristin Gamby led the Falcon attack with 22 kills on 37 attempts for a .486 hitting efficiency, a season high. The Mt. Victory, Ohio native needs only three kills to reach the 1,000 career kill milestone.
Freshman Emily Manser and sophomore Taylor Twite were the only other Falcons to amass double digits in the kill column. Manser slammed down 12 and tallied 12 digs to account for her fifth double-double performance of the season while Twite put away 13 kills and returned two blocks. Junior Samantha Rennau was also in the offensive action with eight kills.
The Falcons will return to the road this Friday, October 22, to face Western Michigan in Kalamazoo (Michigan) at 7:00 p.m. and then return home for their final home and regular season match of 2002 on Saturday, October 23. BG will host Central Michigan at 3:00 p.m. in Anderson Arena.
