
Volleyball Falls to Ball State, 3-2

The Bowling Green volleyball team lost a heartbreaker to long-time rival Ball State on Friday (Nov. 8) night at Anderson Arena. The Falcons took the Cardinals to five games but fell in the end, 25-30, 30-24, 30-27, 23-30. 11-15. BG drops to 8-18 overall and 3-11 in the Mid-American Conference while Ball State improves to 17-7 and 12-1 in the league.
BG did not go down easy though as five players posted 10 kills or more in the match and three players nailed double-double performances. Senior Kristin Gamby led the way with 17 slams on 47 attempts for a .255 efficiency. The Mt. Victory, Ohio native also had 12 digs for her fourth double-double of the season. Susie Norris followed closely with 15 kills on 36 attempts for a .278 average and also notched 10 digs for her 15th double-double performance of 2002. Freshman Emily Manser had an impressive night as she put away 13 kills on 33 attempts for a .273 average and swept up the backcourt with 20 digs to lead both squads. This was Manser's second double-double performance of her BG career.
Other notable efforts came from juniors Nadia Bedricky and Laura Twyman and sophomore Taylor Twite. As BG's current libero player, Bedricky picked up 12 digs to add to the Falcons total of 83. Twyman nailed 10 kills and blocked three balls while Twite put away 12 kills and also returned three blocks.
The Falcon squad will have the rest of the weekend off as they prepare to host East Division member the University at Buffalo on Friday, November 15 at 6:00 p.m.
