Women's Track Impressive At Oiler Opener

The BGSU women's track and field team opened the 2002-2003 season with an impressive showing at the Oiler Opener. The Falcons had 15 top-three place finishes in the meet.
Sophomore Valerie Holland took first place honors in the 60 meter dash with a time of 8.15. Newcomer and senior Amy Henry also took top accolades in the 60 meter hurdles with a time of 8.86. Tamika Dixon and NIcole Carter also took first place finishes in their respective events. Dixon won the 400 meter dash with a time of 59.48 and Carter took honors in the long jump with a mark of 16-08.75. Carter also took second place in the triple jump with a distance of 35-08.75.
Kerri McClung and Mary Willems each earned second place honors in their events as well. McClung threw for a distance of 45-06.50 in the shot put while Willems threw for a mark of 57-00.75 in the weight throw. BG's 4x400 realy team also took second place with a time of 4:01.9.
The Orange and Brown will host the BGSU Quintagular following the Christmas holidays on January 18 at BG's own Perry Field House.
