
Falcon Swimmers Fifth Overall After Day One of Notre Dame Invitational

South Bend, Ind. - The Bowling Green women's swim team is fifth out of 15 teams after day one of the Notre Dame Invitational in South Bend, Ind. The Falcons registered a team score of 270 on Thursday, just behind fourth-place Wyoming (272.5). Rounding out the top-five after day one is West Virginia (385.5), Denison (335), and Iowa (315).
Junior co-captain Jessica Humes finished third in the 500 free with a time of 5:05.98. Lauren Bullock of Louisville won the event in 5:03.58. Humes' teammate, freshman Kara Ohngren, placed eighth in the event with a time of 5:09.94.
Junior diver Molly Peterson tied for fifth place in 1 meter diving with a score of 220.20. Other Falcon placers included Sarah Agnew in the 200 IM (12th, 2:11.45); Stephanie Buckner (11th, 24.55) and Alissa Davies (12th, 24.57) in the 50 free; and the BGSU relay teams in both the 200 free relay (5th, 1:37.98) and 400 medley relay (9th, 4:00.35). Davies, Dana Schultz, Amy Smith and Buckner made up the 200 relay while Tina Sestan, Agnew, Schultz, and Buckner made up the 400 relay.
The Falcons continue the three-day meet today, Friday, at Notre Dame. The invite concludes on Saturday.
