TOLEDO, Ohio - The Bowling Green State University women's tennis team lost a narrow 4-3 decision to the University of Illinois at Chicago Friday night (Feb. 8). The dual match was held at Shadow Valley Tennis Club in Toledo.
The Falcons drop to 1-4 in dual play this season, while UIC improves to 3-2.
The visiting Flames swept the doubles point, winning all three matches that counted in the scoring. That point would prove to be crucial, as the teams split the six singles matches.
BGSU's singles winners included senior Devon Bissinger at the second flight, junior Alyson Gabel at flight number four and sophomore Gaby Coello at the fifth level.
The Falcons will return to action with a Saturday (Feb. 9) match vs. DePaul University. That contest is scheduled to begin at 1:00 p.m. at Shadow Valley.
