BGSU Women Golfers Finish Tied for 13th at Ohio State

Columbus, Ohio - The Bowling Green women's golf team finished tied for 13th out of 15 teams at the Ohio State University Lady Buckeye Spring Invitational on Saturday. Sunday's final round of 18 was canceled due to rain, making the two rounds played on Saturday final. The tournament was played at the Par 72 OSU Scarlet Golf Course (6,037 yards).
Kent State won the abbreviated tournament with a two-round score of 597. Bowling Green finished with a team score of 663 (325-338), tied with Xavier University.
Junior Shelley Binzel (81-79) and sophomore Jenny Schnipke (78-82) finished tied for 41st place individually, carding a 160 each. Senior Shannon Smith was tied for 74th (169), Julie Wise was tied for 80th (174), Stephanie Elsea was 87th (184) and Emily Hassen was 89th (187).
BGSU completes its 2002 season at the Mid-American Conference championships next weekend, April 25-28, in Hamilton, Ohio.
