Bowling Green, Ohio - The Bowling Green State University men's soccer program will sponsor its eighth annual golf outing at Forrest Creason Golf Course on the BGSU campus, Saturday, August 17, 2002. This event has become one of the highlights of the tradition-rich Falcon Soccer program. Since its inception eight years ago, the golf outing has established itself as an opportunity for alumni, family and friends of Falcon Soccer to fund raise dollars to enhance the program, but more importantly, bring the family back together for an afternoon of camaraderie.
At the 2001 golf outing, two hole-in-ones were recorded on the par-3, No. 5 hole (165 yards). Dana Freudeman (father of Deryck Freudeman) and Joe Selter each aced the hole. It was Freudeman's eighth career hole-in-one while it was Selter's first.
There are five sponsorship levels: Corporate ($1,000), Falcon ($500), Tee/Green ($250), Team ($150), and Player Sponsor ($75). Individual golfers may play for $65. All teams in a best-ball format will consist of five golfers with a shotgun start at 1 p.m. Included in the golf package is lunch and dinner at the golf course. Lunch will be served at 12 noon and dinner immediately after the conclusion of the outing with a raffle drawing.
