Wolverines Too Much For Falcons

ANN ARBOR, Mich. - The host University of Michigan never let the Bowling Green State University volleyball team get untracked Tuesday night (Sept. 10), and the result was a three-game Wolverine win. U-M downed the Falcons by scores of 30-13, 30-16, 30-20 at Cliff Keen Arena.
With the win, the Wolverines improved to 4-1 on the season, while the Falcons drop to 2-3.
On offense, Michigan hit .360 (47-11-100) and spread its 47 kills over eight different players. Leading the way were Chantel Reedus and Lisa Gamalski. Reedus posted match highs in kills (13) and attack percentage (.650, 13-0-20), while Gamalski hit .625 (5-0-8).
Senior Kristin Gamby was the lone Falcon to hit double digits in the kills department, with 11. BGSU had a total of 29 kills on the night, and the U-M defense held the Falcons to a hitting pct. of just .009 on the night.
Gamby and redshirt junior Laura Twyman each had a pair of solo blocks, while Gamby added a block assist. Junior Sara Sikorski led the Falcons with 20 set assists off the bench, and was one of three players (joining Twyman and junior Nadia Bedricky) to record six digs in the match.
The Falcons now head to Boulder, Colo., for three weekend matches at the PowerBar Invitational. BGSU will take on both Texas-Arlington (noon MT) and Maine (5:00 p.m. MT) in Friday (Sept. 13) action, before facing host Colorado (7:00 MT) on Saturday (Sept. 14).
