The trip to Colorado means more than just wins and losses to two Falcon volleyball players. For Susie Norris and Kristin Gamby, the matches this weekend mean making history. Both Norris and Gamby are looking to become members of the elite 700 Kill Club. Norris needs 16 kills, while Gamby needs a mere 14 in order to become a member herself. With the Falcon's match against tournament host Colorado this afternoon, the two have come ever closer to reaching their goal.
The pair combined to lead the team attack with Norris slamming down 15 kills and Gamby posting 11 of her own. Norris led on defense as well, digging 10 balls and earning her third double-double of the season, but itwas not enough as BG fell to the Buffaloes in three sets 16-20, 29-31, 24-30. Bowling Green drops to 2-4 on the season.
Junior Laura Twyman and sophomore Taylor Twite mirrored eachother's performances getting seven kills and three blocks apiece.
The Falcons will face the University of Maine tonight at 7 p.m. (Mountain Time) and will see the University of Texas-Arlington tomorrow at 5 p.m.
