The BGSU volleyball team finished competition at the Pittsburgh Invitational Saturday (Sept.7) evening facing tourney host Pitt. Bowling Green took the Panthers to four games but dropped the contest 30-24, 26-30, 24-30, 30-32.
Left-side hitter Susie Norris again led the Falcon attack with 18 kills while also pacing the team on defense with 17 digs and earning her second double-double of the weekend. The junior was then honored for her performances by being the only Falcon named to the All-Tournament team. Emily Manser, the lone BG freshman, also earned a double-double, the first of her young career. The frosh knocked down 10 kills on 23 attempts for a .304 and had 10 digs. Sophomore setter Amber Mareski compiled 43 assists and had 7 kills while teammate Taylor Twite roofed six blocks, three of those being solos.
The Falcons return to action this Tuesday (Sept.10) to face the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. The mid-week match is set to begin at 7:00 p.m. at U of M's Cliff Keen Arena.
