BOWLING GREEN, Ohio (AP) - John Reimold scored 21 points and Cory Ryan added 17 as Bowling Green beat Akron 74-60 Saturday.
Ryan made 5-of-9 3-point attempts, including two in a 16-7 spurt that enabled the Falcons (9-5, 5-1 Mid-American Conference) to turn a 35-all tie into a 51-42 with 6:45 remaining.
The Zips (7-6, 2-2) never got closer than six points after that.
Bowling Green made 12-of-14 free throws over the final 2:03 to put the game away. The Falcons hit 9-of-20 shots from 3-point range to just 2-of-13 for Akron.
Derrick Tarver and Johnny Hollingsworth scored 21 points apiece for the Zips.
Cory Eyink added 13 points for Bowling Green, and Jabari Mattox had 10 assists.
