Falcons Hold On To Defeat Cardinals 61-57

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio (AP) - John Reimold scored five straight points to break a 45-45 tie as Bowling Green defeated Ball State 61-57 Tuesday night for its fifth straight victory.
Reimold, who finished with seven points for the game, hit two free throws to make it 47-45 with 5:02 to play and a 3-pointer at the 3:56 mark that increased the margin to 50-45.
That spurt was part of an 11-0 run that gave the Falcons (7-4 overall, 3-0 Mid-American Conference) a 54-45 lead with 1:16 left.
Kevin Netter led Bowling Green with 17 points and Ron Lewis had 14.
Chris Williams put in 26 for the Cardinals (5-7, 0-2). Robert Owens scored 10 and Cameron Echols had nine points and 13 rebounds.
Bowling Green never trailed in the first half and led 27-18 at halftime. Ball State outscored the Falcons 16-4 to start the second half and led 36-31 with 10:45 to play. The Cardinals led by five twice more in the half before Bowling Green started its comeback.
Both teams had trouble shooting, with Bowling Green going 18-for-46 for 39.1 percent and Ball State 19-for-56 for 33.9 percent.
