Flashes Down Falcons In Four

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio - The Bowling Green State University volleyball team drop its third straight Mid-American Conference game Saturday night, at the hands of the Kent State Flashes, 30-28, 26-30, 19-30, 18-30. The loss drops the Falcons record to 9-9 overall at 1-4 in the MAC.
In game one the Falcons raced out to a 5-1 lead, and eventually pulled ahead 18-10. Kent State mounted a comeback with a 12-4 run to knot the score at 22. BGSU took a four-point lead at 27-23 after junior Taylor Twite added one of her eight kills in game one alone. KSU got as close as 27-25 before the Brown & Orange captured game one 30-28.
Game two began exactly like game one, with BGSU racing out to an early 4-1 lead, before the Flashed tied the score at 14. BGSU reclaimed the lead at 23-22, only to allow KSU to finish game two on an 8-3 run and a 30-26 victory.
The Falcons fell behind early in game three, allowing the Flashes to get out to an early 11-4 lead. The Falcons were unable to recover from the early deficit, getting no closer then 16-9. KSU captured game three 30-19.
Game four began with a 5-1 run by the Flashes, before BGSU rallied back to tie the score at 13 with a 12-8 run. The Flashes controlled the game from here on out, with a 12-2 run to take a commanding 25-15 lead, and eventually winning game four 30-18.
For the second consecutive night, Twite led the Falcons in kills with 19, as well as chipped in with five digs.
After becoming the BGSU record holder in career digs the previous night, senior Susie Norris compiled her second consecutive double-double with 17 kills and 15 digs.
Junior Melissa Mohr had a team-leading .384 hitting percentage to go along with her 10 kills and two block-assists.
The Falcons return to action on Tuesday (Oct. 14) night when they travel to Cleveland State to face-off with the Vikings, before returning home to host MAC opponents Toledo and Northern Illinois on October 17-18.
