Cleveland, Ohio - Bowling Green senior golfer Jenny Schnipke was named the Mid-American Conference Female Scholar-Athlete of the Week for Oct. 13, 2003.
Schnipke (Sr., 3.45, exercise specialist, Kalida, Ohio) set a school record as the Falcons concluded the fall portion of the schedule last weekend at Penn State. She shot a 54-hole score of 221 (76-72-73), breaking the BGSU record that had stood for over two decades. She broke the record by four strokes. The old 54-hole record of 225 was set by Kris McKelvey in 1981. Schnipke finished second among individuals as the Falcons tied for eighth place as a team at Penn State's Nittany Lion Invitational. It marked Schnipke's second runner-up finish and third top-five finish in five tournaments this fall.
