Bowling Green, Ohio - Michigan State scored two goals within just over a five-minute span midway through the second half to defeat visiting Bowling Green on Friday afternoon, 2-0, in East Lansing, Mich.
Mike Zaegel scored at 73:05 and Steve Doster followed at 78:09 for the Spartans' two goals of the game. MSU improved to 11-3-2 with the win.
BGSU got three shots apiece from junior P.J. Behan and freshman Dustin Snyder but could not muster a goal. MSU held a 16-13 shot advantage in the game, including 8-5 in the second half.
David DeGraff registered six saves for the Falcons while MSU's Mike Robinson had eight stops for the shutout.
The Falcons fall to 6-8-4 overall and host Detroit-Mercy in the season finale at Mickey Cochrane Field on Sunday, Nov. 2. Kickoff is scheduled for 2 p.m. and the BGSU seniors will be recognized prior to the game.
