
Falcons Fall On Road At Western Michigan

KALAMAZOO, Michigan - Despite having four Falcons reach the double-digit kill plateau, the Bowling Green State University volleyball team continued their struggles away from Anderson Arena with a four-game loss (28-30, 31-29, 28-30, 23-30) to Western Michigan Friday night. BGSU falls to 12-17 overall and 4-11 in Mid-American Conference action, as well as 2-9 on the road for the year.
The Falcons were once again led by the junior combo of Melissa Mohr and Taylor Twite. The duo combined for 30 kills (Mohr, 16 Twite, 14) and had three block-assists apiece.
Senior Samantha Rennau tied Mohr for the team-high in kills with 16, but also chipped in with her ninth double-double of the season with 11 digs.
With 10 kills and a .318 hitting percentage senior Dana Chapman had her best performance of the season.
Freshman Chrissy Gothke placed her name in the BGSU record book in the loss. With six digs versus WMU she now has 466 digs this season, surpassing the old school record of 462, held by current Falcon, Susie Norris.
Seniors Nadia Bedricky and Norris posted 13 and 17 digs respectively to lead the team.
The Falcons will conclude the 2003 regular season tomorrow night (Nov. 15) as they travel to face Northern Illinois at 7:00 p.m.
