
#8 Ohio State Shuts Out Falcons, 7-0

Bowling Green, Ohio - After a hard-fought, scoreless first period, No.8-ranked Ohio State opened up the offense and defeated Bowling Green at the BGSU Ice Arena, 7-0, Saturday night. The Buckeyes netted four goals in the second period and three in the third period.
BGSU came out playing well and controlled the tempo of the first period, outshooting OSU 12-7 in the opening 20 minutes. Scott May began the scoring with the first goal of the game coming at 3:20 of the second period. Matt Waddell scored a PPG and Dave Steckel added two short-handed goals in the second period.
OSU had two more power-play goals in the third period to finish 3-for-7 on the power play for the game. BGSU was held scoreless on seven power-play attempts.
"Our special teams weren't very good for us," said BGSU Coach Scott Paluch. "Our five-on-five was strong, even in the first eight minutes of the third period, we did a lot of good things."
Shots were even for the game with both teams recording 26 attempts. OSU's Mike Betz earned the shutout with 26 saves while BGSU's Jordan Sigalet had 19 saves on 26 shots faced.
OSU improves to 11-5-0 overall and remains atop the CCHA with a 8-3-0 record. BGSU falls to 3-7-5 overall and 2-6-2 in league play.
BGSU returns to action next weekend with a two-game home series vs. Ferris State (Dec. 5-6). Both games are scheduled for 7:05 faceoffs.
