Falcons Fall To Rockets, 73-59, In MAC Matchup

TOLEDO, Ohio (AP) - Keith Triplett scored 22 points as Toledo used a second-half surge to defeat Bowling Green 73-59.
Sammy Villegas added 16 and Nick Moore 13 for the Rockets (10-11 overall, 4-7 Mid-American Conference).
Cory Ryan scored a career-high 22 and John Reimold 10 for the Falcons (10-11, 6-7).
Ryan, the team's lone senior, topped his previous best of 20 points which he established in November of 2000 against Evansville. Ryan tied career efforts for field goals made (7 for the third time), attempted (12 vs. Tiffin in November) and played a career-long 39 minutes. He is averaging 14.7 points in his last three games.
Villegas and Moore both made 3-pointers during an 11-2 run that stretched Toledo's lead to 59-48 with 5:44 to play. The margin never went below seven points after that.
Bowling Green led 28-23 at halftime. Toledo took the lead at 43-41 with 12:14 left on a 3-pointer by Moore and never trailed again.
The Rockets were 14-for-28 for 50 percent from the field in the second half while limiting the Falcons to 9-for-23 for 39.1 percent.
The Falcons, who will play four of its final five MAC games at home, will host Western Michigan, Saturday at 2 p.m.
