HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (AP) - Ronald Blackshear scored 22 points, including the last four of the game to lift Marshall past Bowling Green 56-54 Saturday night.
Bowling Green led 53-45 with five minutes remaining after two Kevin Netter free throws, but the Falcons scored just one point the rest of the way.
Marshall's Monty Wright scored 11 of his 13 points in the second half, including baskets a minute apart to pull the Thundering Herd (10-10, 6-6 Mid-American) within 54-51 with three minutes left.
David Anderson hit a free throw with 2:22 left - Marshall's only point off the bench the entire game - and Blackshear sank two free throws a minute late to tie the score at 54-54.
Blackshear hit the go-ahead basket with 25 seconds left. Bowling Green freshman Ron Lewis missed a 3-pointer at the final buzzer.
Lewis finished with 18 points for Bowling Green (10-10, 6-6). Netter added 12 points.
The game marked the return of Bowling Green coach Dan Dakich to West Virginia. Dakich left for the West Virginia Mountaineers last April only to quit and return to the Falcons a week later.
