Gymnasts Drop Meet Versus Northern Illinois

DeKalb, Illinois - The Bowling Green State University gymnastics squad dropped a 194.675-192.525 decision to Northern Illinois Sunday afternoon in DeKalb, Illinois. The Falcons were led by Melissa Popovich and Jessica Guyer.
Junior co-captain Melissa Popovich (Medina, OH) placed second on both the balance beam and the uneven bars. She posted a season-best 9.800 on the beam as well as a season best on the uneven bars with a score of 9.775.
Freshman Jessica Guyer (Columbus, OH) continued her strong weekend with a first place finish on the vault with a score of 9.825, a season-best. She also finished third in the floor exercise with a score of 9.850.
Several other Falcons had strong performances, including Ann Marie Kassouf (Middleburg Heights, OH) who finished third in the all-around with a combined score of 38.700. Kassouf posted a 9.800 on the floor and a 9.775 on the beam.
Up next, the Falcons travel to Durham, NH, to compete in the New Hampshire Invitational on Saturday, February 15 at 7:00 p.m.
