
Falcons Drop A 196.325-193.200 Decision To #25 Central Michigan

Kalamazoo, Michigan - Despite several impressive finishes, the Bowling Green State University gymnastics squad fell to Central Michigan, 196.325-193.200 on Saturday afternoon. Senior Kathy Emerson and freshman Jessica Guyer were the top Falcon performers.
Emerson finished in a tie for first place on the balance beam with a score of 9.900. This is the third consecutive week that Emerson has posted at least a score of 9.875 or higher on the beam.
Guyer was the top Falcon on the vault with a score of 9.750. She finished in a tie for third place. Guyer also posted a score of 9.675 on the floor.
Ann Marie Kassouf and Jessica Bradley were the top performers on the uneven bars. Kassouf, who also was the top Falcon in the all-around with a combined score of 38.175, posted a 9.800 on the bars. She finished in a tie for fourth. Bradley posted a 9.675 on the bars to finish eighth.
On the floor exercise Pia Sjovall was the top Falcon finisher with a score 9.825, finishing in sixth place. Melissa Popovich finished directly behind Sjovall with a score of 9.800.
Up next the Falcons will play host on March 22, where they will invite Western Michigan and Kent State to compete in a tri-meet held at Anderson Arena at 7:00 p.m. This meet will be the last chance for the three schools to prepare for the 2003 MAC Championships, which will be held on March 29, also at Anderson Arena.
