First Round of MAC Golf Championship Shortended

Sugar Grove, Ill. - With 18 golfers still on the course, the first round of play at the 2003 Mid-American Conference Men's Golf Championships was suspended on Thursday (May 1) due to darkness. The entire day was hampered by rain, including a 93-minute delay in the middle of the afternoon for unplayable conditions. The round was finally called at 7:40 p.m. (CST)
Play resumed at 6:30 a.m. (CST) Friday (May 2) morning, with players finishing out their first circuit. The second round is slated to tee off at 8 a.m., with the third round following at approximately 1:30 p.m.
