BGSU Defeats Stetson, 3-1

DeLand, Fla. - The Bowling Green men's soccer team rebounded from a 1-0 loss on Friday with a 3-1 victory over Stetson on Sunday afternoon in DeLand, Fla. The Falcons got a career-first goal from Kyle Adkins in the first half and added two more in the second half for their second win of the season.
Adkins, who missed last season due to a torn ACL, took a rebound off of a save by Stetson goalkeeper Ian Landrum and scored to give BGSU a 1-0 lead at 42:33.
The score remained 1-0 until sophomore Paul Seip scored his first goal of the season off a free kick at 57:05 thanks to assists from Dustin Snyder and Eric Duda. Stetson's Matt Groover scored just the second goal of the season on Falcon goalkeeper David DeGraff at 71:11 to cut BGSU's lead to 2-1.
Sophomore transfer Omari aldridge padded the Falcon lead, though, at 74:36 with his second goal of the season for the final 3-1 verdict. Aldridge was assisted by Dave Belfort and Seip.
Stetson outshot BGSU 10-8, including 7-4 in the second half. BGSU held a 4-2 advantage in corner kicks. Landrum finished with four saves while DeGraff had three saves. DeGraff now has a goals-against-average of 0.47 in 380 minutes played this season, allowing just two goals with 22 saves. His save percentage is at .917.
BGSU (2-1-1) will go back on the road next weekend for the UNLV Classic in Las Vegas, Neb. The Falcons will play San Diego State at 5 p.m. (Pacific Time) on Friday, Sept. 19, then play the host Rebels at 2 p.m. (Pacific Time) on Sunday, Sept. 21.
