
Falcons Defeat Bradley In Five Games

Peoria, Illinois - It took five games, but the Bowling Green State University volleyball squad captured its third straight victory, defeating Bradley University on Friday night in the Mark Twain Hotel Invitational. Senior Susie Norris, who had 16 kills to go along with a team leading 30 digs, led the Falcons.
The Falcons (3-1) took games one and two with 30-25 and 30-28 wins, but dropped the next two games 29-31 and 28-30. In the decisive fifth set the Falcons were able to get out to an 11-6 lead, before Bradley knotted things up at 14-14. The Falcons won the nail-biting fifth set 19-17.
As noted before, Norris led the way for the Falcons with 16 kills and 30 digs. Norris now sits five kills away from 1,000 in her career, and will become the seventh Falcon in school history to have both 1,000 kills and digs. She has 1,196 career digs, 148 shy of the school record.
Junior Taylor Twite continued her hot pace of the 2003 season with a 21 kill performance versus the Braves. She also posted a game-high three solo blocks, as well as, six block assists.
Senior Samantha Rennau and freshman Chrissy Gothke had their best performance of the season. Rennau posted her first career double-double with a 19 kill 10 dig performance and Gothke, seeing her first extended playing time had 18 digs Friday night.
The Falcons will conclude the Mark Twain Invitational with two matches on Saturday. BGSU will play UMBC at 2:00 p.m. and Eastern Illinois at 6:00 p.m.
