Peoria, Illinois - The Bowling Green State University volleyball team dropped a four set match to the University of Maryland-Baltimore County, 23-30, 33-31, 24-30, and 26-30. Junior Melissa Mohr had an impressive .467 hitting percentage to go along with nine kills to lead the Falcons.
Despite the loss, senior Susie Norris reached that magical number of 1,000. Norris had 14 kills in the match versus UMBC to now give her a career kill total of 1,009. Norris is the 12th Falcon in history to have at least 1,000 kills and is one of seven Falcons in school history to have both 1,000 kills and digs.
The Falcons as a team struggled on the attack all afternoon. As a team they hit only .192 and had only two players reach double digit kills (Norris, 14 and Bedricky, 12).
The Falcons will conclude the Mark Twain Invitational with a match versus Eastern Illinois. The match is set to begin at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday.
