BOWLING GREEN, Ohio - Ted Piepkow is the Bowling Green State University Scholar-Athlete of the Week. Piepkow, a sophomore on the BGSU football team, helped the Falcons to an 11-3 record and a bowl win.
Piepkow, a native of Clark Lake, Mich., had two tackles, including one for loss, as the Falcons capped off a successful 2003 season with a 28-24 win over Northwestern in the Motor City Bowl on Dec. 26.
On the year, Piepkow totalled 77 tackles to tie for sixth on the team. He had 5.5 tackles for loss, including three quarterback sacks, five pass breakups and six quarterback hurries.
The Falcons won the Mid-American Conference's West Division with a 7-1 league record. BGSU finished the season ranked 23rd in the national polls.
Piepkow had a 3.30 cumulative grade point average entering the fall, 2003, semester.
