Bowling Green, Ohio -
Head Coach Gregg Brandon
"It was a great offensive effort, thing is we could have scored more points. We kind of dinked around down there in the red zone."
On Falcon Defense...
"Defense got us a score, defense held them when they had to hold them. We knew that they could throw the ball and they were effective doing that. Hill is a good player, and those receivers are good. But we kept them out of the end zone long enough to get the win."
Speaking about Cornelius McGrady...
"We got a report that he is ok. They are going to discharge him pretty soon. I think that was just a good, old-fashion slobberknocker. He got whacked pretty good."
"We went into the locker room, we were really just down. Everybody is thinking about Corn (McGrady). We had to rally the troops there at half ime. Our kids did a good job of responding."
Speaking about Falcon seniors...
"It's a hell of a win for our seniors. The accomplishments that this senior class, since I have been here for four years, are tremendous. We won more games than any other Bowling Green team in history. We put the most points ever on Marshall. It's a credit to our seniors, to our program."
"When one group of seniors leave, the next one needs to pick up the torch and keep going. We will say good bye, shed a tear, but hey that's the way great programs operate. The next group comes in, steps up and leads. And we keep winning."
On BGSU's Offense...
"We talk about executing our offense, throwing and catching, running and blocking. It really doesn't matter who we play. If we're efficient and we're taking care of the football, and we're protecting Omar, doing those things then we're going to have success. We demonstrated that again today. We knew they could throw the ball. We made plays when we had to make plays."
"Eight wins in this league is really good. We just got to go get one more and got to get a little help from my buddy Genyk up there at Eastern (Michigan)."
"P.J. (Pope) is a quality back, he is hard to tackle. He has a low center of gravity, and he's got deceptive speed, good moves, he can flash when he has to, he can open it up when he has to."
Speaking about Mike Crumpler...
"He's really worked his way into a position where he can play when it counts. That's a credit to Crump. He has been around here for awhile, its nice to see him playing well."
Defensive Back Keon Newson...
"We had to step up and make stops. That proved to be the difference in the game."
"Our offense does a lot for our team, they make it a lot easier for us because they put teams on their heels early in games."
Speaking about his interception...
"I had an opportunity and I took advantage of it. Ryan Newble made a great play, and I made a great play. He gets just as much credit as I do."
"Being around these guys is so much fun. There is so much love on our team, and guys really care about each other. Right now we are just riding on a high."
"The fans in Bowling Green are outstanding. They really get behind us. They support everything we do, whether we make good plays or bad plays. That's real big because we feed off our crowd."
Center Scott Mruczkowski...
-"That's twice we have played the number one defense in the conference, and twice we have put up good numbers. That says a lot about our offense and how we perform."
Wide Receiver Charles Sharon...
"We really don't change, we just know what we got to do. We just go out there and perform at our level of play."
Quarterback Omar Jacobs...
-"We wanted our seniors to go out on top. We just wanted to let them go out the Doyt as winners."
"That's just something we expect, to put up points no matter who comes in front of us. If its Oklahoma or whoever is the top defense in the nation or the conference, we just have that confidence that we're going to put points up on them."
Speaking about his long TD pass to Charles Sharon...
"When he bit on Steve (Sanders), Chuck was running scott-free down the sidelines."
"We are a big play offense. Everybody makes plays, and everybody does the right thing at the right time."
Speaking about the BGSU offensive line...
"They're awesome. We probably have the best line in the nation, in my opinion. I think those guys are great, they do a lot. They have a lot of responsibility put on them, protecting the quarteback, making holes for P.J. (Pope). Those guys are just awesome up front. Big props to them, they win game in and game out. If they're not performing, we're not performing."
Marshall Coach Bob Pruett Post-Game Quotes
"We just got beat. You all saw it. We had no answers. We needed to match them on offense, we needed to play better on special teams. This is one of those deals where we just got beat. The speed of their game is hard to simulate with our scout team and that threw our kids off, then when they got rolling they sort of lost confidence.
On BGSU Offense...
You just have to give them credit. Their offense is a really, really pretty good offense. Probably the best offense that's been in this league since I've been in it. They're rollin' right now and we had no answers. I think they're playing the best right now (in the league).
On Marshall Offense...
Offensively we moved the ball, we did some good things. We had two scoring opportunities down there we didn't get. We had a defensive back line up offsides on the first interception that might have helped us a little bit.
On Omar Jacobs...
"He did a great job. He did a great job. We had no answer for Omar today. They have a really good offensive football team. Outstanding."
On disappointing season...
"It's a shame we're 5-5. We're much better than that. But that's what we are. We'll regroup and go after it. Nobody will feel sorry for the Herd. We just let one get away."
