BOWLING GREEN, Ohio (AP) - Josh Almanson scored 17 points and Steven Wright added 13 to help Bowling Green beat Illinois-Chicago 63-51 on Wednesday.
John Reimold pitched in 11 points for the Falcons (1-1), who outrebounded the Flames 39-34.
Elliot Poole scored 12 points and Justin Bowen had 11 points and 10 rebounds for Illinois-Chicago (0-2), which missed all 15 of its 3-point attempts and shot 28 percent from the field overall.
Bowling Green raced out to a 34-16 lead at halftime, shooting 58 percent from the field before the break. The Flames had just six field goals in the first half.
The Falcons committed 20 turnovers and made just 14 of 25 free throws.
Bowling Green's John Floyd had eight points and a game-high seven assists.
