Bowling Green Faces Akron in First Round of Tournament Play

The Falcons have ended regular season play and will begin the Mid-American Conference Tournament with a noon match against #2 seeded Akron on Nov. 5. The MAC Tournament is being hosted by Western Michigan and all matches will be held at the WMU Soccer Complex beginning Oct 5 at 9 a.m.

The #7 seeded Falcons of Bowling Green will look to make their mark during the tournament after finishing the season 0-18 overall and 0-7 in conference play. Akron comes into the tournament with an 11-4-3 overall record and 4-1-1 for conference play.
Earlier this season, Bowling Green hosted Akron, resulting in a 4-0 loss for the Falcons.
Falcons in the MAC Leading the Falcons going into the tournament are junior Omari aldridge and freshman Jordan Koblens. Aldridge leads the team this season with six goals, 34 shots and 18 SOG. Aldridge scored three of those goals during the Falcons 7-3 loss against IPFW on Oct. 28. Aldridge is ranked 6th in the MAC in goals.
Newcomer Jordan Koblens ends regular season play with four goals and three assists. Koblens scored his first two goals on the road against Ohio State. Koblens also had the Falcons lone goal in their 5-1 loss to Kentucky.
Sharing time in goal this season for the Falcons were Juniors Tyler Dollins and Brandon Decker. Dollins is going into the tournament ranked third in the MAC for saves (65) and Decker ranked 8th (40). The team is ranked 1st in the MAC for saves.
Bowling Green has been named the MAC Champions three out of the past 11 years. With their most recent championship in 2002. Overall, the Falcons have finished in the top three, eight times in the past 11 years.
