YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (AP) - Josh Almanson scored 21 of his 28 points in the first half and Bowling Green jumped to a 20-point lead in the opening seven minutes of the game en route to a 81-59 victory over Youngstown State Saturday.
Almanson made 8 of 9 shots in the first half and 11 of 13 overall. He scored eight points as the Falcons (5-1) open the game with a 26-6 run over the Penguins (2-4) and took a 22-point halftime lead.
Bowling Green made 18 baskets to nine for Youngstown State in the first half. Bowling Green took 14 more shots than the Penguins and forced 16 turnovers while committing just four.
John Reimold added 16 points and Steven Wright scored 14 for Bowling Green.
Quin Humphrey led Youngstown State with 16 points and Zach Silverman scored 12 points.
