TERRE HAUTE, Ind. - Host Indiana State University took the doubles point, then took three of the six singles matches en route to a 4-3 victory over the Bowling Green State University tennis team Saturday night (Feb. 21).
The Sycamores captured the doubles point, with only the BGSU team of senior Lisa Maloney and junior Susie Schoenberger emerging victorious. That Falcon duo won an 8-5 match at the top flight.
In singles play, the hosts captured matches at each of the top-three flights. BGSU junior Cameron Benjamin got a three-set win at the fourth flight, while sophomore Heidi Romer swept her ISU opponent at the fifth flight. Freshman Ashley Jakupcin picked up a sixth-flight victory, in three sets.
The Falcons (5-4) will look to bounce back with a Sunday (Feb. 22) match at Butler.
