The Falcons opened the day's action by beating Wichita State University, then returned to the diamond to down Oakland University. Both games were part of the Comfort Inn Mercer Classic, held at Sikes Field in Macon, Ga.
The Falcons are now 2-0 on the young campaign. BGSU's wins dropped WSU to 5-7 and Oakland to 4-6.

In the second game, senior Jody Johnson matched Vrabel with a complete-game win. Johnson allowed five hits and only one earned run, walking four and striking out seven.
After the Golden Grizzlies scored single runs in the first two innings, the Falcons got a pair of runs in the bottom of the second, with Anderson's two-run homer. BGSU's other run came in the bottom of the fourth off OU starter Korey Schluckbier (1-3).
Each team had five hits in the game, with Fenton drilling a double. Sophomore Lindsay Heimrich, Kernahan and McPherson rounded out the hit parade for the Falcons, who made their baserunners count. The Falcons left just one runner on base in the game, to the Golden Grizzlies' seven.
