BOWLING GREEN, Ohio - Susie Schoenberger is the Bowling Green State University Scholar-Athlete of the Week. Schoenberger, a junior on the BGSU tennis team, picked up a pair of wins as the Falcons closed out the regular season.
Schoenberger, a native of Upper Arlington, Ohio (Upper Arlington H.S.), went 2-2 on the week, including a perfect 2-0 in MAC play. She downed Ball State's Jenny Batty in straight sets (6-3, 6-3) at the second singles flight last Saturday (April 17), and teamed with Lisa Maloney for a win over BSU at the top doubles flight.
Schoenberger played at the top singles level against 19-3 Xavier, falling to XU's Lauren Clary. She and Maloney lost by a narrow 8-6 count to the Musketeers' top doubles duo.
Schoenberger, a telecommunication major, currently maintains a 3.56 cumulative grade point average.

The Falcons, 9-13 overall and 3-6 in MAC play, are in Rockford, Ill., for the MAC Championships. Seventh-seeded BGSU opens the league tourney with a Thursday (April 22) match vs. #10-seeded Akron.
