Falcons Still Pushing for MAC Tournament Bid

Nolan Reimold Ranked Nationally in Slugging Pct. and Batting Avg.
SO Nolan Reimold (Greenville, Pa.) is ranked 17th in the nation with his .731 slugging pct. and 33rd nationally with his .404 batting avg. In the MAC, his .731 slugging pct. is second and his .404 batting avg. is fourth. Of Reimold's team-leading 63 hits this season, 26 have gone for extra bases, including 12 doubles, three triples, and a team-leading 11 home runs. Reimold tied a school record with two triples in a game at Buffalo on April 11 and had two home runs in his very next game on April 14 vs. Cleveland State. One of his home runs on April 14 was a two-run, two-out, walk-off homer against the Vikings. In 43 contests this season, he has 19 multiple-hit games and 15 multiple-RBI games. In his right-field position, he has recorded 72 putouts and five assists with no errors.
Eric Lawson Not Playing Like a Rookie
FR Eric Lawson extended his hitting streak to a career-high eight games after hitting successfully in all four games last week, which includes a .643 average against Toledo. During those eight games he has a team-high .474 avg. (18-of-38) with 14 runs scored. He has struck out just twice in 38 at-bats during that time with two doubles, one home run, and nine RBIs. Lawson is 20th in the league with a .351 average, and that average jumps to .407 in league play (ninth in the MAC).

BGSU Head Coach Danny Schmitz needs one more win to reach career victory number 375. He currently has a 374-342-4 record in 14 seasons at Bowling Green (.522 pct.). Schmitz is the all-time leader at BGSU in wins. He is 10th all-time in career wins among MAC coaches and is one league victory away from 200 (199).
Neil Schmitz (no relation) Nearing MAC Record for Appearances
Neil Schmitz (St. Henry, Ohio) has a BGSU record 89 career appearances in his four years at Bowling Green. His 89 appearances are only four shy of the MAC record held by Matt Speicher of Ball State (93, from 1996-99). Schmitz also holds the BGSU record for career saves with 17. That number ranks him eighth all-time in MAC history.
300 Wins at Warren Steller Field
BGSU took two of three games from league-leading Miami the weekend of May 7-9. The two victories gave the Falcons 300 wins at Warren Steller Field. The Falcons are now 300-209-7 (.588 pct.) over the field's 41-year history. Warren Steller coached baseball at BGSU for 31 years between 1925 and 1959, compiling a 221-154-0 record during that time.
Nolan Reimold Twice Named MAC West POW in 2004
SO Nolan Reimold has been named MAC West Division Player of the Week twice this season. The sophomore rightfielder was POW on March 1 after batting .545 in a three-game series at Dayton, including two homers, two doubles and seven RBIs. He was then named MAC Co-POW on April 26 after batting .500 (8-for-16) with five RBIs over the course of four games, including .583 in a three-game series at Kent State with one homer, one double and five RBIs.
