Bowling Green, Ohio -
The Bowling Green State University men's golf program will host A.J. Bonar, former coach of the BGSU men's and women's golf teams, for its annual Fund Raiser and Reunion to be held on September 10-11, 2004.
"The Truth About Golf," a clinic and demonstration featuring A.J. Bonar, will take place on Friday, September 10th, from 5:30-6:30 p.m. at the Stone Ridge Golf Club Practice Range. "An Evening with A.J." will take place immediately following from 6:45-8:30 p.m. at the Stone Ridge Golf Club Clubhouse. Bonar will share the unique, positive, and humorous real life stories behind his successful, best-selling instructional DVD's, videos, and books. There will be an opportunity for questions and conversations with Bonar, alumni golfers, and local golf boosters. The cost for the entire evening is $60, which includes food and beverages.
A golf outing takes place on Saturday, Sept. 11, at the Stone Ridge Golf Club. A continental breakfast will be served from 8:00-9:00 a.m. with a recognition of special guests and PGA club professionals. The 18-hole "Old Birds Open" will start at 9:00 a.m. and continue until 3:00 p.m. The event will be an "individual competition" combined with a "team competition of best ball two scores" by each team on each hole. A current BGSU varsity golfer or a PGA club professional will play on each four or five man team, and Bonar will play one hole with each group. A box lunch will be provided during play and prizes will be awarded following play. The cost for the golf outing is $125.
Cost to do both Friday's event and golf on Saturday is $160.
