Western Ontario Captures Falcon Invitational

Bowling Green, Ohio - Western Ontario won the 2004 Falcon Invitational, hosted by Bowling Green State University, by carding a 36-hole score of 637. The host Falcons carded a weekend-low score of 311 on Sunday, but fell four shots back to finish in second place at Forrest Creason Golf Course.
Western Ontario's Sue Gleeson shot a weekend-low score of 73 on Sunday and won the individual medal with a score of 151. Teammate Margaux Ullett was second with a score of 153 (76-77). BGSU freshman Jessica McCann ended tied for fourth place with a score of 157 (79-78).
"I'm encouraged with the round we played today," said BGSU Coach Kurt Thomas. "When you have five players come in at or under 80 you're going to give yourself a good score. We just got too far behind yesterday."
The Falcons had four players end in the top-15, including McCann, freshman Carley Hrusovsky (T-9th, 159), junior Amanda Schroeder (T-14th, 163), and freshman Lindsey Jonkhoff (T-14th, 163). Jonkhoff was competing as an individual. Redshirt junior Karen Binzel and freshman Amanda Bader each finished tied for 21st place with a score of 165.
Freshman Brittany Newell finished tied for 26th (167) as an individual and sophomore Kari Liggett was tied for 40th (176) as an individual.
BGSU returns to action in two weeks when it travels to the Penn State Nittany Lion Invitational, Oct. 2-3, in College Station, Penn.
