Men Place Ninth At Stanford Invitational

STANFORD, Calif. - The Bowling Green State University cross country team traveled to Palo Alto, Calif., to compete in the 31st annual Stanford Invitational this weekend. In the 4K race the Falcon men finished ninth overall among 20 teams, while the women placed 10th.
The men were once again led by sophomore Rogers Kipchumba. He placed 31st overall with a time of 12:43. Edwin Cheruiyot was the second Falcon to cross the finish line with a 13:06, good enough for 43rd overall.
For the women, newcomer Jamie Roflow placed 34th overall with a 14:59. Seniors Melissa Krueger (43rd) and Elise Gould (48th) finished with times of 15:13 and 15:18 for second and third place finishes for the Falcons. Freshman Caroline Hillman did not run, due to an injury.

"I was quite pleased to see our top-five women finish within a 26-second span. Overall, they ran a nice race against a very tough field."
