BOWLING GREEN, Ohio (AP) - John Reimold and Josh Almanson scored 21 points each to lead Bowling Green to a 78-67 win over Northern Illinois on Sunday.
Reimold was 5-of-7 from beyond the 3-point arc. Steven Wright scored 11 points and Mawel Soler added 10 for the Falcons (9-2, 3-0 Mid-American), who never trailed after a game-opening 20-9 run.
Todd Peterson was 4-of-6 from 3-point range and finished with 19 points for Northern Illinois (5-7, 1-3). James Hughes came off the bench to add 18 points.
The Huskies trailed by as many as 18 points in the second half, but cut the deficit to 70-62 with 2:05 to play on a 3-pointer by Peterson. Almanson answered with a jumper and Wright followed with two free throws.
Bowling Green finished with a 36-24 advantage on points in the paint, and a 21-9 edge on points off turnovers. The Falcons led 38-30 at halftime.
