ANN ARBOR, Mich. - The Bowling Green State University tennis team completed weekend play at the seventh annual Wolverine Invitational on Sunday (Oct. 2). The six-team tournament, hosted by the University of Michigan, was held at the Varsity Tennis Center. No team scores were kept.
Senior Andrea Meister advanced to the championship match of the 'Wolverine' singles flight, but fell in the final to Michigan State's Ana Milosavljevic on Sunday.
At that same flight, freshman Kelsey Jakupcin completed a 3-1 weekend with Sunday's victory over Western Michigan's Ashley Moccia. The 6-2, 6-3 win enabled Jakupcin to win the back draw at that flight.
The tournament consisted of three 16-player singles flights and three round-robin doubles flights, with no official team scores kept. Cincinnati, Marquette, MSU and WMU joined the Falcons and host U-M in the tournament.
BGSU's next action comes on Oct. 20, in the ITA Midwest Regional at East Lansing, Mich.
