BOWLING GREEN, Ohio - The Falcons earned a non-conference `W' over Oakland University Tuesday night, sweeping the Grizzlies 3-0 (30-24, 30-23, 30-21). Junior Chrissy Gothke hit .500 with a team-high 10 kills. Gothke also closed the door for the Falcons with four service aces during the last six points of the third game clincher.
With both squads struggling offensively in game one, Gothke stepped up for the Brown and Orange with six kills on six swings to go along with her five assists and three digs. Serving was also key for BGSU as a trio of Falcons recorded service aces in the opening act.
Freshman Meghan Morh fueld the Falcon attack in game two with five kills, including two big ones down the stretch. Oakland closed the gap to a lone point at 17-16 before a Mohr kill started a Bowling Green run which boosted the Falcons to the win. Mohr's sixth kill of the match finished off game two for the Falcons.
Bowling Green's balanced attack was evident in game three, as a third different Falcon led the team in kills when senior Ashlei Nofzinger smacked a game-high five kills in the third set. Nofzinger hit .625 (5-0-8) in the final game for the Brown and Orange.
