KENT, Ohio (AP) - Josh Almanson scored 23 points including 10 during a second-half surge to spur Bowling Green to a 77-73 win over Kent State on Saturday.
Kent State (16-8, 8-5 Mid-American Conference) led 59-58 after Kevin Warzynski's 3-pointer with 7:42 remaining before Almanson scored 10 of the next 12 for Bowling Green (14-7, 8-5).
Almanson hit three free throws, a jumper and then had a rebound follow for another basket to put the Falcons ahead 65-62.
After Warzynski made another 3-pointer with 4:06 left to tie it, Bowling Green's Steven Wright made two free throws to give the Falcons the lead for good. On their next possession, Almanson hit a 3-pointer with 3 minutes remaining to push the lead to 70-66.
John Reimold, who added 19 points, made a layup and hit a free throw in the final 13 seconds as the Falcons held on.
Wright contributed 15 points for the Falcons, who led 35-27 at the half.
Warzynski scored 23 points, hitting all three of his 3-point attempts and 10-of-11 free throws, while Jason Edwin scored 16 and Scott Cutley had 10 for the Golden Flashes.
Bowling Green hit 62 percent of its shots from the field in the second half and finished at 58 percent for the game.
