Bowling Green, Ohio - Bowling Green State University baseball's home opener, originally slated for Tuesday, March 15, against the University of Findlay has been moved back to Wednesday, March 16. The first pitch is scheduled for 2 p.m.
BGSU is currently 8-2 on the young season and are returning from a successful Spring Break trip to Bradenton, Fla., which saw the Falcons go 6-1. BGSU had an eight-game winning streak snapped on Saturday vs. Indiana, 12-2. The eight-game winning streak is the longest since 1999 when BGSU rattled off 11 in a row. Included in that winning streak was a forfeit by Marshall due to them already reaching their NCAA maximum.
Several Falcons had great Spring Break trips, highlighted by junior Nolan Reimold and senior Andy Hudak. While in the sunshine state, Hudak batted .448 in seven games, with a team-high 13 hits and 10 RBIs. Reimold had 10 hits with three triples, two doubles, one home run and nine RBIs. His slugging pct. was .778 in the seven games.
Senior Keith Laughlin went 2-0 in two appearances with a 1.64 ERA in 11 innings of work. He allowed just two runs and one walk while striking out eight. Senior Burke Badenhop also pitched 11 innings, earning one win, walking just two batters and striking out a team-high 13 in that span.
Findlay is 3-6 so far this year.
