BOWLING GREEN, Ohio - The Bowling Green State University baseball team, behind junior Nolan Reimold's career-high three homeruns, downed the Findlay Oilers 10-3 Wednesday afternoon in the 2005 home opener at Warren Steller Field. With the win the Falcons are 9-2 on the season, while Findlay falls to 3-8.
It did not take long for Reimold to record two of his five RBI's on the day, posting a two-run homer in the bottom of the first. The junior from Greenville, Pa. also registered a two-run homer to left field in the sixth inning and had a solo blast in the bottom of the eighth.
With the Brown and Orange leading 3-1 heading to the bottom of the fourth the Falcons played little ball to bring around two more runs. Eric Lawson opened the inning with a bunt single, then stole second, followed by a Jeff Warnock single to right field to bring Lawson around to score. Reimold drew a one-out walk, stole second and scored following an Andy Hudak single to stretch the lead to 5-1.
BGSU extended their lead in the bottom of the sixth when junior Dash Yost doubled down the right field line, followed by a Warnock single to plate the first run and Reimold pilled on with two more run as he cranked out his second homer of the day.
Nine pitchers combined to scatter eight hits and three runs for the Falcons. Burke Badenhop (3-0) picked up his third win of the young season.
