Falcons Kick Off Spring Break With 14-2 Win vs. Northeastern

Bradenton, Fla. - Bowling Green kicked off its Spring Break trip in Bradenton, Florida, on a good note, thanks to a 14-2 victory over Northeastern Saturday afternoon. Nine different Falcons contributed with a hit, giving BGSU 14 base hits for the game.
NU Senior Devin Monds (1-1) gave up six runs on five hits, walking five and striking out six in four innings. Meanwhile, the Huskies (4-5) mustered only two hits off of Falcon (3-1) starter Keith Laughlin (1-1), who lasted four innings and came out after reaching his pitch count limit.
After a scoreless first inning, BGSU began a scoring onslaught which saw them score a run in each of the next six innings. BGSU scored a run in the second,fourth, and sixth frames. Then BGSU tallied four runs in the third inning, five in the fifth inning, and two in the seventh inning.
Tyler Wasserman doubled in Josh Stewart in the second inning to put the Falcons on the board first. Junior Steve Raszka then broke things open in the third inning with a grand slam and the Falcons never looked back.
NU scored its lone runs in the sixth, when junior Arman Sidhu doubled home freshman Josh Porter, and in the ninth when senior Miguel Paquette homered to right.
BGSU's Kyle Knoblauch pitched three innings, allowing just one run on three hits, while Matt Hundley pitched the final two innings, allowing just one run on three hits.
Raska ended 2-for-4 with four RBIs while Jeff Warnock was 3-for-6 with two RBIs.
BGSU, now 3-1 overall, takes on Connecticut on Sunday, March 6, at 3 p.m.
