Notre Dame Tops BGSU

South Bend, Indiana - Notre Dame scored eight runs in the seventh inning to break open a close game and defeat visiting BGSU, 14-2 in a non-conference game Tuesday night in South Bend.
Trailing 4-0 in the top of the sixth, BGSU plated two runs to cut the gap in half. Jeff Warnock had a bunt single with one out. With two outs, Andy Hudak was hit by a pitch and Josh Stewart followed with a single to put BGSU on the board. Hudak and Stewart pulled a double steal and Hudak would later score on a wild pitch.
Notre Dame's Derik Olvey went six innings and allowed just four hits. The Irish outhit BGSU 20-5.
The Falcons, 20-9 and 5-4 in the MAC, will play a three-game series at Northern Illinois beginning Friday in DeKalb.
