Falcons Finish 9th at FirstEnergy Intercollegiate

Akron, Ohio - Bowling Green finished 9th at the annual FirstEnergy Intercollegiate held at Firestone Country Club this weekend in Akron. The Falcons finished with a 54-hole score of 911 (301-307-303). Toledo captured the 15-team tournament with a score of 868.
As a team, the Falcons finished just one shot back of Ohio University for eighth place (910), and six shots back of Wright State for seventh place (905).
Junior Heath Ziglar was the top Falcon finisher, placing 15th with a 54-hole score of 224, including a round-one score of 71 on Saturday. He also shot 77 and 76 to end the tournament.
Classmates Dan McIntyre (T-18th) and Chris Leake (T-33rd) also performed well. McIntyre ended with a 54-hole score of 225 (77-73-75) while Leake had a 54-hole score of 228 (76-75-77). McIntyre's round of 73 tied a season-best for him.
Also competing were junior Tommy Lopez who finished T-52nd (234) and freshman Jace Walker who finished T-71st (247).
BGSU stays in the Buckeye state when it travels to Columbus, Ohio, next weekend (April 23-24) for the Robert Kepler Intercollegiate. That will conclude the regular season for the Falcons and set them up for the Mid-American Conference Championships, May 5-7, in Westerville, Ohio.
