Falcons Kick Off Season with 5th Annual John Piper Intercollegiate

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio - The Bowling Green State University men's golf team will host the 5th annual John Piper Intercollegiate, Monday and Tuesday (Sept. 12-13), at Stone Ridge Golf Club in Bowling Green, Ohio. Thirteen teams will compete in this year's two-day, 54-hole tournament.
The tournament is named after former Falcon men's golf coach John Piper who coached the Brown and Orange for 13 years from 1970-1982. Piper led BGSU to three Mid-American Conference Championships and one runner-up finish. Piper currently resides in Bowling Green and serves as an assistant to the men's golf team.
Competing in the Piper Intercollegiate will be BGSU, Dayton, DePaul, Detroit, Evansville, IPFW, Marquette, Oakland, Ohio, Wisconsin-Green Bay, Wright State and Youngstown State. Bowling Green will have an 'A' team and a 'B' team competing in the tournament.
