Walker Named MAC Golfer of the Week

CLEVELAND, Ohio - Jace Walker carded a 209 this past week at the Earl Yestingsmeier Invitational in Muncie, Indiana, and for his efforts he was named Mid-American Conference Golfer of the Week. He shared the honor with Austin Steele (BSU) and Grant Christman (Ohio).

Walker, who finished the tournament in a tie for third, opened the tournament with a 71-72. The following day the junior fired the second-lowest round of the tournament with a 66. He began the day three over after two holes, but played the final 16 holes at a 7-under clip, including an eagle on the par-4 third hole.

The 66, which was a career-best for Walker, was also the third lowest round in school history. His 209 was four strokes better than his previous career-best of 213 set last year at the John Piper Intercollegiate.
