Falcon Baseball Announces Team Captains for 2007 Season

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio - The Bowling Green State University baseball team has named Seniors Eric Lawson, Tyler Johnson and Josh Dietz the team captains for the 2007 campaign.
Lawson served as a captain last season as well, leading the team in batting average (.355), on-base percentage (.469), homeruns (five), slugging percentage (.511) and walks (32). The Milford, Ohio native sports a .355 career batting average and a .455 OBP through his first three seasons as a Falcon.
Johnson paced the Falcons with six saves out of the bullpen a year ago. Johnson's career strikeout to walk ratio is just below 3:1. In 2004, he posted a 2.49 ERA in 13 appearances as a sophomore.
Dietz hit .325 in '07, including a .455 hitting percentage. He excels defensively as well, evidenced by his .990 career fielding efficiency.
Bowling Green opens the season with a three-game series at Middle Tennessee State from Feb. 23-25.
