
Yee Finishes Out Front Twice; Falcons Drop First MAC Meet at UT

TOLEDO,OH - The Bowling Green (0-1-0, 0-1-0) Swimming and Diving Falcons may have dropped their first MAC dual meet on the road at rival Toledo (3-0-0, 1-0-0), but the Falcons finished first in four events with sophomore Alisha Yee taking two herself.
Yee won the 200 IM in 2:09.43 after beating out rookie teammate Chelsea Lopus (2:11.10). The New Mexico native also won the 100 backstroke with her time of 59.00.
Senior captain Caroline Keating and sophomore Jennifer Wright also earned the stop spots in the 1000 and the 200 freestyle, respectively.
Rookies Chelsea Lopus and Frankie Houck combined for three second place finishes.
In relay action, the BGSU 200 medley quartet of Yee, Houck, Meg Richardson and Michael Carriaga finished second with a time of 1:49.76 behind UT's 1:48.25 mark. Keating, Wright, Houck, and Lopus also finished second in the 400 free relay.
Off the diving boards, junior captain Jill Auer brought in a third place finish with a score of 206.78 just ahead of teammate Ashley Belrose's 203.18 on the 3-meter board. Belrose's 245.09 outing earned a third place finish on the 1-meter board. Ten points separated Belrose from UT's Megan McKinley's first place score of 255.30.
The Falcons continue their MAC journey on Saturday afternoon as they swim against the reigning MAC Champions Eastern Michigan.
